A sound foundation with a long service life is a must in every construction. And waterproofing of the foundation concrete is essential for durable and strong structures.
In order to achieve this result, Polaris Engineers decided to use the liquid crystal additive for making the concrete in the foundation impervious to water. However, foundation was not the only surface that was in contact with the water below the ground levels. For the perimetral walls and slab-perimetral wall connections below the ground level, our specialists were on site, ensuring the right amount of liquid crystal was introduced to the concrete to be used for those elements.
During the construction of perimetral walls, spacers that are used for the stabilization of formwork might leave a few weak spots which might leave gaps for water to infiltrate into the structure. Precisely for this reason, Polaris experts mixed crystalline additive to the structural repair mortar, cleaned all the possible weak spots and applied the repair mortar – crystalline mixture. All the mentioned locations on the perimetral wall were covered with bitumen to complete the process.
