Durres Perforcim Earthmoving Works
Ankara'daki karma kullanımlı mimari proje, konut, ticari ve kültürel alanları tek bir entegre komplekste bir araya getirecek yeni bir projedir. Proje, Ankara'nın kalbinde, ana ulaşım bağlantılarına, okullara ve hastanelere yakın, birinci sınıf bir konumda yer almaktadır.
In this project we encountered a different challenge than usual. Several vertical load bearing elements in the building that we were going to work on was damaged by the earthquake, and it was our task to remove the ones that were damaged, and strengthen the others that were not affected by the earthquake.
Our demolition professionals started to work on removing the defected elements with various machinery such as mini excavators, skid-steer loaders and other manual tools.
Then Polaris engineers created solutions to improve the load carrying capacity and earthquake resistance of the building. Our teams started to drill small holes in the existing slab – wall and slab column connections to build stronger and brand-new load carrying elements. These holes were filled with chemical anchorage dowels, which is a material that has extreme amount of adhesive strength, and new reinforcement steel bars were anchored to the assigned locations.
New columns and load carrying walls were covered with fresh concrete and our clients had saved both money and time.
This project was a good example of finding solutions for the restorative works in buildings that were only partly damaged due to unexpected external effects.
